Meet The Farmers.

Hi, we are Paul and Jana Vinogradov. We have been married over 25 years and raised our 4 children in Pleasant Hill, CA. Paul works full time at Deloitte Consulting, but spends many of his weekends at the farm caring for the orchards, managing operations and engaging in new building projects. Jana has been a stay-at-home mom and is about to launch her youngest child off to college. She spends her time at the farm picking fruit, working in the garden, and making jam, soaps and candles.

How It All Started.

Back 40 Farms began with a desire to buy some land (our own “Back 40”) for a family get away. The property had been neglected and we spent many days picking up trash, pruning and cleaning up. Our theme verse became Isaiah 43:18-19, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

We discovered these amazingly sweet oranges growing on the property and began sharing them with our friends and family. Our desire to restore the land continued to grow and we spent time nursing those trees back to health and planting additional fruit trees. One thing led to another and our little “getaway” turned into a place to work, relax, have fun and do a little business.
